Islam's environmental wastewater experience includes engineering complex, large-scale pipeline and pumping station projects for state and municipal utilities. His broad expertise encompasses contract management and operations, water and wastewater process evaluations, facility planning, capital improvement programs, sewershed flow analysis, and hydraulic modeling.

Municipal and public utility quality expectations are rooted in Islam's understanding of their project success criteria. Wastewater system behaviors may reoccur due to the environmental setting, exhibit capacity bottlenecks compounded by RDII, or suffer chronic corrosion that weakens the pipe's structural integrity. Before Islam investigates the system, he carefully listens to each utility manager's pain points at the outset of an engineering project. He can then prioritize tasks and tailor the best solutions to make the most impact.
